Founded in 2020, UpRights is a non-profit organisation (Stichting) based in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Our mission is not controversial – human rights and international law must be respected, victims must be empowered, and perpetrators held to account. We use our experience in international humanitarian, criminal and human rights law to develop and support meaningful partnerships with those most capable of ensuring change, including those most affected by human rights violations.

This can take many forms, including documenting and analysing human rights violations, building the capacity of our partners to identify and pursue legal pathways to ensure accountability, supporting the prosecution and adjudication of international crimes or providing expertise for the advancement of rule of law-based frameworks. Through these processes we leverage our unique experience to help those best positioned to assist those most affected by human rights violations, international crimes, conflict, or instability.

Partner with Us

UpRights establishes meaningful partnerships with victims, civil society organisations, national authorities and international organisations that utilize our experience to assist those most affected by international crimes, conflict, or instability.

UpRights welcomes potential partner organizations or individuals to contact us about future collaborations.

Intern at UpRights

We value the fresh perspective and skills that interns bring to our team. Our internships require a minimum commitment of three months, with flexibility in location, though we prefer candidates who can work from our office in The Hague.

We provide a small stipend to support interns during their time with us. If you are interested, please send us your CV and a statement of interest explaining your motivation and enthusiasm for joining UpRights.

We are unfortunately not accepting applications at the moment, but we will publish upcoming calls through our social media channels.
